Most Vehicles Don't Need To Have Their Oil Changed Every 3,000 Miles

For years we were all told that an engine oil change was a necessity every 3,000 miles. While that was true at the time, advances in both automotive engines as well as engine oil have changed all that.

Most of today's modern engines can go 5,000-7,500 miles between oil changes. This will obviously depend on the make and model of the vehicle, but with advances in synthetic oil blends, this is certainly not out of the realm of possibility. Of course, there is nothing wrong with continuing to do oil changes every 3,000 miles if that is what you are most comfortable with. But here at Westpointe Chrysler Jeep Dodge we just want to keep our customer base informed on any and all potential ways that they can save money. If you have any questions regarding the frequency in which your vehicle is required to have its oil change you can either consult your user manual or ask our service advisors what is recommended.
